JBS Group and Educo
JBS takes the issue of Corporate Social Responsibility very seriously - to the point of founding and funding 'Educo' - a public registered charity.
Educo is a charity founded in Ireland in 2006. The aim is to educate underprivileged children.
Educo's 4 Pillars are:
- 1) To educate through English
- 2) To achieve a gender balance - by educating more girls
- 3) To help computer literacy
- 4) To teach local teachers.
Educo Philanthropic Fund is registered by the Irish Charities regulator, reg number 20063252.
Educo India (www.educoIndia.org , set up in 2009, reg E-25425) is based in Mumbai and reaches almost 1,000 primary & secondary pupils there.
In total, across India, there are 11 Educo-funded schools, educating almost 4,000 pupils per year. Educo is run by volunteers - so 100% of public donations go to the target cause - educating underprivileged children.
JBS Group has donated €1m+ to Educo and continues to donate significantly each year.
