James Boylan Safety Ltd open their doors in North County Monaghan, Ireland as manufacturers of high quality
shoes and boots.

  • 2000

JBS wins the exclusive contract to supply Irish government and bodies with all PPE and Workwear requirements.

  • 2003

JBS achieves certification for ISO 9001 (Quality), 14001 (Environmental), OSHA 18001 (Health & Safety) standards.

  • 2005

JBS becomes the largest PPE/Workwear distributor in Ireland as they move to their new 30,000 sq ft headquarters in Milltown Business Park, Monaghan.

JBS acquires DL Safety Ltd. (Cork- based PPE distributor to construction industry).

JBS acquires Glendermott Universal (Derry- based workwear & janitorial distributor to blue chip multinationals).

  • 2006

JBS acquires W J Nelson & Sons Ltd. (Belfast-based workwear distributor to Belfast industry and N Government departments).

JBS is instrumental in founding Educo – Irish registered charity to give education to underprivileged children.

  • 2007

JBS acquires Vard Ltd (Dublin-based uniforms and corporate clothing tailors, with fitting expertise).

  • 2009

JBS wins major contract to measure and fit, make and supply all officer uniforms for An Garda Siochana (Irish police force with 14,000+ officers).

  • 2013

JBS acquires the Wenaas UK – (Aberdeen-based workwear supplier to Oil & Gas sector).

  • 2015

JBS secures the contract for supplying and managing the uniforms for Aer Lingus. This is now the largest online uniform management contact in Ireland.

  • 2016

JBS acquires Approved Safety Products Ltd (Sheffield-based workwear supplier to the steel and mining sectors)

JBS acquires Romar Innovate Ltd. (Whitehaven–based PPE supplier and manufacturer of containment products to the nuclear industry).
